Fleur Woods - Two Day Rockpool Natures Textures Workshop August 6th & 7th, 2026

Join Fleur Woods at Sew.Be Curated for a wonderful two full days (10am to 4pm) of creative bliss.

Contemporary Fibre Artist and Author of The Untamed Thread based in New Zealand Fleur will be travelling to Sew.Be in August 2026 to teach one of her popular texture workshops.

Learn to create your own unique rockpool / coral reef inspired fibre artwork.

In this fun, playful workshop you will learn how to use a variety of techniques including punch needle and soft sculpture hand building to create your textural fibre artwork.

Select from either a neutral or colourful palette with beautiful textural materials and hand dyed wools directly from Fleur's studio.

Fleur's workshops are an opportunity to create with a sense of joy and freedom, to explore new techniques and stitch your own unique artwork with plenty of support and guidance.

All in the beautiful creative space at Sew.Be in Newcastle, surrounded by colour and textiles galore.

Materials, lunch and tea & coffee included so you don't need to bring a thing, just book your spot and come as you are.

 No particular experience level required, just the ability to thread a needle and make simple stitches.

Fleur's workshops are designed for plenty of one on one and group demonstrations so that you can grow your skills and explore contemporary embroidery at your own pace.

Generous materials are supplied in a kit for you to use during the workshop and take home.

If you love texture, textiles and thread then this is the workshop for you.

Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. Minimum numbers required. If minimum numbers are not met you will be refunded in full.

Accommodation is readily available in close proximity to the venue at shop 2/386 King St, Newcastle and includes Air BNBs in the same building, The Little National (approximately 800m walk) and Crystalbrook Kingsley (about 500m walk).

Please note the class fee is non refundable. If something changes to make attendance difficult we will endeavor to rebook your place for a 25% fee but a refund is not guaranteed.
